World Heritage Site Status for the Burren
Recent newspaper coverage has suggested that the Burren is moving closer to being nominated as a world heritage site, confirming the area's universal outstanding heritage value. This news comes as moves are also underway to secure Geopark status for the region, while in another development, consultations are underway through the Burrenbeo Trust (with support from the Heritage Council) to explore the creation of a Burren Charter.
